Tailor your resume to the job description
Every posting asks for different words. Upload your resume, paste the job description, and we tell you what to change and where so your resume fits that role. Then AI makes the changes for you.
What tailoring your resume to a job means
Tailoring your resume isn't writing a new one for every posting. It's taking your base resume and doing three things: using the same words the job description uses, moving the experience closest to the role to the top, and cutting what doesn't add anything for that job.
It matters because almost every company filters with an applicant tracking system (ATS). The ATS looks for the job description's keywords in your resume and ranks candidates by how many it finds. A keyword counts wherever it appears, in Skills or in a bullet. If it doesn't appear anywhere, you lose points even if you have that experience.
What AI does when you create your account
The free plan tells you what to change. With your account, AI makes the changes:
- It works the job description's keywords you're missing into your bullets, where they make sense.
- It rewrites the bullets that don't connect with the role, in the job description's language.
- It shows you every change with the before and after text, and the reason.
- You download your tailored resume in a format the ATS reads well.
Tailoring isn't making things up
AI works with what's already in your resume. It doesn't add jobs, titles, or numbers you don't have. If the job description asks for something you really haven't done, the plan flags it as a gap, and you decide whether to cover it with other experience or leave it. A tailored resume has to hold up in the interview.
Frequently asked questions
Do I have to tailor my resume for every job?
Yes, if you want to get past the filter. Every posting uses different words for the same job, and the ATS compares against that posting's words. You don't need to rewrite it from scratch: adjusting the summary, the main bullets, and the skills is usually enough.
Is tailoring my resume with AI free?
The plan on this page is free and needs no account. Tailoring with AI needs a free account, no card, which includes 3 applications a month.
Does the AI make up experience or numbers?
No. It only rewrites and reorders what you already have, and adds the job description's keywords where they fit your real experience. You review every change before you download.
How is this different from the ATS checker?
The ATS checker tells you whether your resume gets past the filter for a job. This page tells you what to change so it does, and with your account it changes it for you.
What file do I upload?
A PDF up to 10 MB. If your resume is in Word, save it as a PDF first. If it's made in Canva or has two columns, convert it to ATS format before tailoring it.
