Resume for Inditex: how to apply to Zara and its brands

Your resume for Inditex is sent in one place: Inditex People (inditexpeople.com), the group's job portal. There you'll find the openings for Zara, Pull&Bear, Massimo Dutti, Bershka, Stradivarius, Oysho, Zara Home and Lefties. To apply you need an Inditex account and you need to upload your CV, so it's best to have it ready before you start, in a format the system can read in full.

How to send your resume to Inditex, step by step

1. Go to Inditex People. It's the portal that all the job links on the Inditex corporate website lead to.
2. Choose the area. The portal sorts the openings into Tienda (Store), Creatives, Business, Corporativo (Corporate), Tecnología (Technology) and Logística (Logistics).
3. Filter by brand and specialty and open the offer for your city.
4. Click "Inscribirme ahora" (Apply now). The portal asks you to log in with your Inditex account; if you don't have one, you create it at this step.
5. Complete the application and attach your CV.

This portal is the only application channel that Inditex links to on its official pages.

And the resume for Zara?

It goes to the same place. Zara doesn't have a separate job portal of its own: its openings are on Inditex People. Store offers are published by city and cover all the brands. For example, the offer "VALENCIA | Únete a nuestras tiendas" ("Join our stores") includes Zara, Pull&Bear, Massimo Dutti, Bershka, Stradivarius, Oysho, Zara Home, Lefties and Inditex.

So you don't need to prepare one resume "for Zara" and another "for Bershka". With one application to the offer in your city, you present yourself to the group's stores there.

How to prepare the CV you upload to Inditex People

The CV you attach is stored in the portal's system alongside your application, and selection systems usually extract its text to display it and search it. A PDF reader doesn't see your resume the way you do. It reads the text layer in the order the file was built, and the flashier templates (two columns, sidebar, icons, photo in the header) come out the worst. In fashion it's tempting to pick a heavily designed template; for the file you upload, it's better not to. The mechanism is explained in whether the ATS reads columns and tables.

The name comes out in the middle of the text, the contact at the end, and the section titles bunched together, with no content beneath them. Anyone reviewing your application in the system sees scrambled data, or data in the wrong field.
